Pulse is a personalised training program designated for all (fresh-out) employees joining Schlumberger’s Technology Organisation. 

The purpose of the program is for employees to acquire all relevant training essential for them to perform their role in the most efficient way. It also prepares them for future technical opportunities and technical leadership.

How to attract the best talent?

Pulse was created to evolve Schlumberger’s current technology training (Advance), to better suit the changing landscape around them.

Recent downturns have significantly diminished the available talent pool and created a cultural shift towards oil field services.

This has made it increasingly difficult for oil and gas companies to attract and retain, knowledgeable, highly-skilled workers.

With this in mind, Schlumberger realised they needed to focus their recruiting and training efforts on a smaller pool of qualified individuals for key roles.

Pulse provides candidates with a training program that is tailored specifically for them. it adapts to their needs by focusing on developing core competencies for current and future positions.

They refer to this as training that is – Just in time, Just enough, Just for me.
